Immaculately clean hotel, amazing location. Breakfast with many options to choose from, great omelettes and also actual filter coffee. Location just off the two ice- cafés in Watamu town and the coral reef, which is barely 200 mt away from the resort. Also, right next to the the sea.

A slice of Italian luxury overlooking the ocean! Amazing facilities like a health club, outdoor pool, and even bikes to rent. I also enjoyed the spa services and delicious Italian cuisine. The only downside? Not much local Kenyan touch.

During my recent business trip to Watamu, my director chose Mawe Resort Watamu Boutique Hotel for our stay, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The hotel provided us with many conveniences, including complimentary bottled water. This small gesture made a big difference, ensuring that we always had refreshments at hand without any extra cost.
While my experience at Mawe Resort Watamu Boutique Hotel was overwhelmingly positive, there was one minor aspect that could be improved - the room cleanliness, particularly the floor.

Great sea views and attentive staff, with a delicious breakfast
During my business trip, I stayed at a hotel with the most amazing sea views. The friendly staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs, making my stay as comfortable as possible. I also loved the breakfast, which was both filling and appetizing. the hotel was conveniently located in an area that made it easy to get to nearby places of interest.
I did not like that the hotel had limited access to the beach, and the only way to enjoy the beach was by going down a staircase when the tide was low. I found it quite expensive to purchase bottled water at the hotel, with prices that were higher than what I would have expected.

Beautiful boutique hotel with a private and serene atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a free suite upgrade to room 4. The staff, including Ole Shikoku, Emily, Riziki, and Winnie. Despite being fully booked, the hotel was very quiet. The beach patio offered a stunning ocean view, and the private ocean access through a rock tunnel was truly unique. The bar was also a great addition to the hotel.
In terms of drawbacks, the towels, although soft, left me looking like a plucked chicken. The quality of the internet was mediocre, and beach boys would approach during low tide when going for an ocean swim.

I recently stayed at Mawe Resort Watamu Boutique for a couples’ getaway and had a fantastic time. The property is well kept and offers stunning views of the coral reef. The rooms are lovely and the grounds have plenty of seating areas to relax. The food at the hotel was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the spa massage services. The breakfast coffee was strong and of great quality. With only a limited number of guests, it felt intimate and exclusive.
100% Recommend this hotel.

The view from the hotel was breathtaking and the pool area was very relaxing. the lounge chairs were comfortable and there were plenty available. the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The price for the room was much higher than expected and there were many hidden fees. the room was not as clean as it should have been upon arrival and it was a bit cramped.

Located on a cliff above the sea, with no access to the beach, bike riders could still enjoy the saltwater pool, lounge beds, and the fascinating view. the rooms are simple but comfortable, and the staffs are friendly and helpful. Guests could walk on the reef during low tide, borrow beach shoes and rent snorkeling gear. the food is pleasing but could use more variety.
Bike riders may face one problem at the hotel; the air conditioning system sometimes makes disturbing noise.
